Science fair conclusion

Hi everyone,

I have been working so hard on my science fair this term and I would like to show you my finishing conclusion. Hopefully you will enjoy this!

Overall conclusion:

My testing has proven that the science that has gone into developing running shoes enables humans to run faster, on all surfaces.

This differs from my hypothesis but is consistent with my initial observation that inspired me to do this for my science fair.

I encounted the following problems while running with bare feet that held me back:

The rocky surface on the beach made it painful to run. I also found my feet dug into the sand further than when I was wearing running shoes.

The pavement was very hard on my feet and jarred my legs which didn’t allow me to fully stretch out.

The grass was wet and slippery which made it hard to accelerate to full speed quickly.

Wearing my running shoes over came all the issues I experienced with running with bare feet. I found that wearing running shoes was more conformable, gave me better spring and gave me more grip on sand, pavement and grass respectively. The combination of these factors enabled me to run my fastest.

I was surprised that shoe manufacturers have been able to over come the various disadvantages of running in bare feet on each of the surfaces in one pair of shoes. Clearly human science has got it right when it comes to the humble running shoe.

If I got to do this again I would defiantly not test when wet, because it was a wee bit dangerous. Having said that I believe that the overall results would not be different.
